Ὁ Ὅσιος Ἀγαπητὸς ἔζησε στὴ Ρωσία περὶ τὸν 11ο αἰώνα μ.Χ. καὶ ἀσκήτεψε στὴ Μεγάλη Λαύρα τοῦ Κιέβου στὰ χρόνια τοῦ Ὁσίου Ἀντωνίου. Ὁ Ὅσιος πράγματι ἦταν ἀγαπητὸς στὸν Θεὸ καὶ ἔτσι τὸν ἀξίωσε τοῦ χαρίσματος τῆς θαυματουργίας. Ἡ φήμη του ἁπλώθηκε παντοῦ καὶ πλήθη πιστῶν ἔρχονταν στὸν Ὅσιο, γιὰ νὰ θεραπευθοῦν. Γιὰ τὸ λόγο αὐτὸ τὸν ἀποκαλοῦσαν ἰατρό. Ἀνάμεσα στοὺς ἄλλους, ἐθεράπευσε καὶ τὸν πρίγκιπα τοῦ Τσέρνιγκωφ Βλαδίμηρο Βσεβολόντοβιτς, ὁ ὁποῖος ἀργότερα ἔγινε μεγάλος πρίγκιπας τοῦ Κιέβου μὲ τὴν ἐπωνυμία «Μονομάχος».
