Εἶναι ἄγνωστο ἀπὸ ποῦ καταγόταν καὶ πότε ἄθλησε ὁ Ἅγιος Ἱερομάρτυς Ἑλλάδιος. Ἀφοῦ διέπερεψε στὴν ἀρετὴ καὶ τὴν εὐσέβεια, μὲ τὴν χάρη τοῦ Θεοῦ κατέστη Ἐπίσκοπος. Γιὰ τὴν ὑπὲρ τοῦ Χριστοῦ δράση του συνελήφθη, καὶ, ἀφοῦ ἀρνήθηκε νὰ θυσιάσει στὰ εἴδωλα, ὑποβλήθηκε σὲ σειρὰ σκληρῶν βασανιστηρίων. Ρίχθηκε στὴν πυρά, ἀλλὰ μὲ τὴν Θεία Δύναμη ἐξῆλθε ἀβλαβής. Μὲ τὰ θαυμάσια αὐτὰ γεγονότα ἔγινε πρόξενος, ὥστε πολλοὶ τῶν παρισταμένων εἰδωλολατρῶν νὰ προσέλθουν στὴν ἀληθινὴ πίστη τοῦ Χριστοῦ. Τέλος, ἀφοῦ ἐδάρη σκληρὰ μὲ ράβδους καὶ γροθιές, παρέδωσε τὸ πνεῦμα καὶ περιεβλήθηκε τὸν ἀμαράντινο στέφανο τοῦ μαρτυρίου.
