Οι οσιομάρτυρες αυτοί, έζησαν στα χρόνια του βασιλιά Κωνσταντίνου ΣΤ’ και της μητέρας του Ειρήνης (780 μ.Χ.). Κατοικούσαν στη Μονή Ζώβη, που βρισκόταν κοντά στη Σεβαστούπολη. Επειδή τότε ο Αμηράς των Αγαρηνών, Αλείμ ονομαζόμενος, πολεμούσε τη χώρα εκείνη, συνέλαβε και τους Όσιους αυτούς Πατέρες, και τους παρακινούσε να αρνηθούν την πίστη του Χριστού. Ο δε Όσιος ηγούμενος Μιχαήλ, έλεγξε δριμύτατα τον Αγαρηνό άρχοντα , τους δε Μοναχούς του ενθάρρυνε να υπομείνουν γενναία τον θάνατο για τον Χριστό. Έτσι, όλοι αποκεφαλίστηκαν για τη δόξα του Χριστού.
