Ἡ Ὁσία Πιαμοῦν, καταγόταν ἀπὸ τὴν Αἴγυπτο ὅπου ἔζησε τὸν 4ο αἰῶνα μ.Χ. Σὲ νεαρὴ ἡλικία ἔμεινε ὀρφανὴ ἀπὸ τὸν πατέρα της, ἀλλὰ ἡ Χριστιανὴ μητέρα της τὴν ἀνέθρεψε μὲ παιδεία καὶ νουθεσία Κυρίου. Ὅταν δὲ μεγάλωσε, ἐπιδόθηκε μαζὶ μὲ τὴν μητέρα της σὲ ἔργα ἐλεημοσύνης καὶ εὐσπλαχνίας. Δὲν ἦταν βέβαια πλούσιες, ἀλλὰ ἀπὸ τὸ φτωχικό τους εἰσόδημα, συνέδραμαν τοὺς πτωχοὺς καὶ τοὺς ἀδύνατους ἀδελφούς τους. Ὅταν ἡ μητέρα της κοιμήθηκε, ἡ Ὁσία, μόνη της πλέον, ἐπιδόθηκε στὴ διακονία τῶν πασχόντων ἀδελφῶν της. Ἐπισκεπτόταν τὰ σπίτια τους, τοὺς παρηγοροῦσε καὶ τοὺς στήριζε στὴν πίστη. Τόση φήμη ἀπέκτησε ἡ Πιαμοῦν, ὥστε ὅταν οἱ ἐχθροὶ πολιορκοῦσαν τὴν γενέτειρά της, ἀκούγοντας τὸ ὄνομά της ἔλυσαν τὴν πολιορκία καὶ ἔφυγαν.
