Ὁ Ὅσιος Ἀγάπιος ἀσκήτεψε στὴ Σκήτη τῆς Ἁγίας Τριάδος κοντὰ στὰ ὅρια τῆς μεγίστης Μονῆς Βατοπαιδίου τοῦ Ἁγίου Ὄρους καὶ συνελήφθη ἀπὸ τοὺς Σαρακηνούς. Ἀφοῦ ὁδηγήθηκε στὴ Μαγνησία τῆς Μικρᾶς Ἀσίας, κήρυξε σὲ αὐτοὺς τὸ λόγο τοῦ Θεοῦ, τοὺς κατήχησε καὶ τοὺς βάπτισε. Στὴ συνέχεια ἀφέθηκε ἐλεύθερος καὶ τελειώθηκε μὲ εἰρήνη στὸ Ἅγιον Ὄρος.
