Pyhä Epimakhos Egyptiläinen (myös: Epimahos Aleksandrialainen) oli kotoisin Egyptistä. Hän asui pitkään yksinäisyydessä Pelesium-vuorella. Aleksandrialaisten kristittyjen vainoamisen aikana (n. vuonna 240) pyhä Epimakhos täynnä palavaa intoa meni kaupunkiin, tuhosi pakanallisia epäjumalia sekä pelottomasti tunnusti Kristuksen Herrakseen ja Jumalakseen. Tämän vuoksi pyhää kidutettiin. Ihmisten joukossa oli katsomassa kidutusta nainen, joka oli toisesta silmästään sokea. Pisara marttyyrin verta paransi naisen vamman.
