Pyhä Capitolina Kappadokialainen oli kotoisin Kappadokiasta. Hän oli sukua Kesarean arkkipiispalle Firmianos Kesarealaiselle (muistopv. 28.10.). Pyhä Capitolina jakoi omaisuutensa köyhille, vapautti orjansa ja ilmoittautui vapaaehtoisesti alueen maaherralla kertoen samalla olevansa kristitty. Samaan aikaan olivat keisari Diocletianuksen vainot kovimmillaan, mutta maaherra tahtoi saäästää tämän ylhäisen naisen hengen. Capitolina kuitenkin vetosi sukunsa kristittyyn historiaan ja lopulta hänet teljettiin tyrmään ja mestattiin seuraavana päivänä.
