Santa Juana la Mirofora, esposa de Chusa, el administrador del hogar del rey Herodes, fue una de las mujeres que siguieron y asistieron al Señor Jesucristo durante el tiempo de su predicación y ministerio público. Ella es mencionada en Lucas 8:3 y 24:10. Junto con las otras Mujeres Miroforas, Santa Juana se fue al sepulcro para ungir el Santo Cuerpo del Señor con mirra después de su muerte en la cruz y oyó de los ángeles el alegre anuncio de Su Gloriosa Resurrección. Según la tradición, ella recuperó la cabeza de San Juan el Bautista después de que Herodías la había arrojado (24 de febrero).
