Tres semanas antes de la Navidad en Serbia se celebra el día de los niños, que se llama ˝Detinci˝. En este día los padres simbólicamente atan a sus niños con una cuerda. Durante el año anterior los niños ahorran un poco de dinero y regalan algo a sus padres, para que los padres les suelten. Esta costumbre simboliza la fuerte relación que existe entre los padres y sus niños.
