Uno de los Setenta, Tito nació en Creta y fue educado en la filosofía y la poesía griegas. Dirigido por un sueño, leyó al Profeta Isaías y vino a dudar de todo el saber griego. Escuchando de Cristo el Señor, fue a Jerusalén en compañía de otros cretenses, oyendo las palabras de Señor y viendo sus poderosas obras él mismo. Su joven corazón se aferró firmemente a Cristo. Fue luego bautizado por el apóstol Pablo, a quien en la obra del Evangelio como un hijo sirve a su padre. Pablo amaba a Tito tan grandemente, que algunas veces le llamaba su hijo (cfr. Tito 1:4) y algunas veces su hermano (cfr. II Corintios 12:18). Tito viajó extensamente con el Apóstol de los gentiles, y fue hecho obispo de Creta por él. En el momento del sufrimiento de Pablo en Roma, Tito estaba allí, y fue él quien enterró el cuerpo de su maestro y padre espiritual. Regresó entonces a Creta, donde tuvo gran éxito bautizando a los paganos, y gobernó la iglesia sabiamente hasta edad muy avanzada. Entro a su descanso a la edad de noventa y cuatro años.
