El Mártir Agathoniko era de Nikomidia, fue arrestado por el noble Evtolmios quien volvía de su viaje de Ponto, donde había ido a perseguir cristianos, en Karpi encontró a Zotico a quien mato juntamente con sus discípulos, estando en esa zona se entero de que el príncipe se había bautizado cristiano, influenciado por Agathoniko. Entonces, arrestó al príncipe y Agathoniko, después de castigarlos con otros cristianos, los condujo al rey, que se encontraba en Tracia. Pero en el camino, cerca de un pueblo llamado Potamos, murieron Zinona, Theoprepio, Akindyno y Sebiriano, por las graves heridas que tenían en sus pies, no pudiendo caminar más. Cuando llegaron cerca del pueblo Silybria, Agathoniko, prigkipa y los otros cristianos, así como estaban atados fueron decapitaron por orden real. Quedando escrito en el libro de la vida eterna de Dios, los Santos Martires Agathoniko y junto con este Zotico, Zinon, Theoprepios, Akindynos, Sebirianos y Prigkipas.
