San Moki era presbítero en Macedonia en la ciudad de Amfipolis. Bajo el reinado del emperador Diocleciano había una persecución contra los Cristianos (284-305) durante la cual el santo exhortaba a los paganos que habían unido por un festival pagano de Dionisos (Backus). Les imploraba que abandonaran la iniquidad de los costumbres viles del paganismo. Urgía que los paganos se arrepientan, que se convirtieran al Cristianismo y que se purificaran con el Bautismo.
