El Hieromártir Timoteo, Obispo de Prusa (Bitinia), Recibió del Señor el don de ser milagroso por su pureza y santidad de vida. En Prusa el convirtió muchos paganos a la fe en Cristo. El emperador Juliano el Apostata (361-363), al oír sobre el Santo Timoteo, lo encerró en la cárcel. Hasta ahí continuaba predicando el Evangelio. Juliano no le permitió enseñar sobre Jesucristo, pero el santo continuaba difundiendo la fe Cristiana. Por fin, el emperador dio la orden que le cortaran la cabeza al santo. Sus reliquias santas fueron transferidas a Constantinopla un tiempo después.
