Trifilio fue discípulo de san Espiridión y luego su compañero obispo en la isla de Chipre. Era misericordioso, puro de pensamiento, casto de vida, una fuente viva de lágrimas, y un gran asceta. Gobernó bien el rebaño de Cristo y, cuando fue a su descanso, recibió su corona entre los grandes jerarcas en el cielo. Entro en paz a su descanso en el 370 d. C.
