Hoy se recuerda el tercer encuentro de la cabeza del Precursor, Juan Bautista, esta por vicisitudes de aquella época se perdió una vez más. Estuvo enterrada por muchos años y fue encontrada por una revelación de un sacerdote pero no en una vasija especial de barro sino en un recipiente de plata sepultada en un lugar sagrado (Comana de Capadocia). Luego la reliquia fue trasladada a Constantinopla y recibida con gran respeto, solemnidad y alegría por el Emperador, el Patriarca, el clero y toda la ciudad. Confirmando lo que dice el Salmo 34:19-20 “Muchas son las angustias del justo, pero el Señor lo librará de todas ellas; le protegerá todos los huesos, y ni uno solo le quebrarán”. El día 24 de febrero se recuerda el Primero y segundo encuentro.
