Der hl. Babila wurde in der Umgebung von Rom geboren und bekam eine christliche Erziehung. Vermeidend der Eitelkeit der Welt, siedelte er sich mit seinen beiden Jüngern auf einem Berge an. Während der Christenverfolgung durch den Heiden entfernte er sich mit seinen Jüngern nach der Insel Sizilien, wo er mehrere Ungläubige zu Christus bekehrte. Der Statthalter der Insel, wegen der Wirksamkeit des HI. erzürnt, ließ alle Drei ergreifen und zur Marterung ausliefern, welche sie geduldig ertrugen. Alle Drei starben durch das Schwert, um das Ende des 3. Jahrhundert.
