Geboren in Epirus, und seiner Beschäftigung nach Schneidermeister. Das von ihm verdiente Geld teilte er in 3 Teile, einen für die Eltern, den zweiten für die Armen und den dritten für sich. Nach dem Tode der Eltern kam er nach Konstantinopel, wo gegen ihn die falsche Anzeige gemacht wurde, er habe äußerlich den Islam angenommen, beschimpfe aber jetzt denselben und bekenne sich als Christen. Deshalb wurde er auf einem Scheiterhaufen durch Feuer gequält und schließlich enthauptet (im Jahre 1526). Seine Reliquien in der Patriarchalkirche zu Konstantinopel sind durch Wunder verherrlicht.
