12 Jahre alt, begab sie sich aus ihrem elterlichen Hause nach Alexandria, wo sie in ein lasterhaftes Leben hineingezogen wurde. Nach 17 Jahren kam ihre Sündhaftigkeit ihr zum Bewusstsein besonders als sie einmal bei ihrer Anwesenheit in Jerusalem durch eine unsichtbare Macht verhindert wurde das hl. Kreuz zu küssen. Nach inniger Busse verließ sie Jerusalem und ging in die Jordanwüste, wo sie 48 Jahre verblieb in völliger Einsamkeit, Fasten, Tränen und Gebet, hierdurch große Gnade bei Gott erwerbend.
