Der heilige Märtyrer Markellos war Bischof von Sizilien, der heilige Filagrios war Bischof von Zypern, und der heilige Pankratios war Bischof von Tauromenien. Sie alle waren Jünger des hl. Apostels Petros. Von ihm wurden sie zu Bischöfen der christlichen Gemeinden der betreffenden Städte eingesetzt. Alle drei errangen das Martyrium von den Heiden.
