Der selige Andreas war slawischer Abstammung, und Knecht des reichen Bewohners der Stadt Konstantinopel, Feognostos. In der Kirche zu Wlachern ward er gewürdigt, die Mutter Gottes zu sehen, die für die bedrohten Christen der Stadt betete, und sie mit ihrem Schultertuch deckte. Er starb am Anfang des 10. Jahrhunderts.
