Als Hegumenos des Chilandarischen Klosters wurde er zum Hierarchen befördert (1310-1325). Im Jahre 1319 übersetzte er in die Slawische Sprache und führte in Serbien das Typikon des Sabbas von Jerusalem ein. Am 24. (11. alter Kalender) Mai wird das Gedächtnis der Erneuerung (Του Γενεθίουή τοι Έγκαινιον) gefeiert, der alten königlichen Stadt Byzanz, nach welcher Kaiser Konstantin der Grosse im Jahre 330 die Residenz von Rom verlegte mit sämtlichen Behörden, indem er der Stadt seinen Namen Konstantinopel gab.
