Der heilige Märtyrer Thalaleos war der Sohn von Berukios, des Heerenleiters aus Libanon und Romilla. Nach Erlernung der ärztlichen Kunst, heilte er die Armen umsonst, weshalb er "der Uneigennützige" heißt. In seinem 18. Lebensjahr wurde er wegen des Bekenntnisses zu Christus schrecklichen Quallen unterworfen. Dennoch die zwei von seinen Quälern, die ihn quälten, Alexandros und Asterios, bekehrten sich zu Christus. Und das Volk, welches die Wunder des Martyriums sahen (ins Meer geworfen, ertrank der Märtyrer nicht), riefen: "Groß ist der Gott der Christen!" Der hl. Thalaleos wurde danach in der Stadt Aegä in Kylikien, im Jahre 284 enthauptet.
