Theodoros trat mit 14 Jahren ins Kloster von Pachomius in Tabennisi beim heutigen Dandara ein. 350 wurde er in einer Krise der Klöster, die Pachomius gegründet hatte, von Genaralabt Horsiese zu seinem Stellvertreter bestellt. Auch Theodoros gründete weitere Klöster. Einen Brief von Theodor über das Osterfest übersetzte Hieronymus ins Lateinische.
