Die Ehrwürdige Theodosia lebte im 8. Jahrhundert in Konstantinopel. Sie war in eine fromme Familie, nach gebeten ihrer Eltern zur Welt gekommen. Als ihre Eltern starben, wurde sie in einem Nonnenkloster groß gezogen. Dort ist sie auch als Nonne geblieben. Als die Ikonenverfolgung anfing, setzte sich die Ehrwürdige für die Verteidigung der Ikonen ein. Dafür wurde sie verhaftet und hart bestraft. Schließlich zogen die Soldaten des Kaisers die hl. Theodosia barfuss mit Schlägen durch die Stadt. Eine der Schläge war tödlich. Sie wurde von frommem Christen ehrenhaft bestattet. Das geschah im Jahre 730.
