Die Brüder wurden vom König von Persien an Julianos den Abtrünnigen gesandt, um Frieden zu schließen. Weil sie sich weigerten, zu Chalkedon an einem vom Kaiser dargebrachten Opfer teilzunehmen, wurden sie 869 enthauptet. Als die Heiden ihre Leiber verbrennen wollten, nahm die durch ein Erdbeben gespaltete Erde sie in ihren Schoss auf, doch erschienen auf die Gebete der Christen nach 2 Tagen ihre Reliquien wieder oberhalb der Erde und wurden bestattet.
