Die hl. Tatjana war Römerin von Geburt, die Tochter eines röm. Konsuls, eines geheimen Christen. Sie war Jungfrau und widmete sich völlig dem Diakonissen - Dienste einer der Gemeinden. Zur Zeit der Christenverfolgung unter Kaiser Septimus Severus (222–235) wurde auch sie verhaftet und gefoltert. Sie wurde in die Löwengrube geworfen, blieb aber unversehrt. Mit der hl. Tatjana erlitt das Martyrium auch ihr Vater, der sie zu Christus heimlich bekehrte. Sie beide erlitten den Tod durch Enthauptung. Das ist geschehen um die Jahre 226–235 in Rom.
