Hl. Juliana verweigerte dem Stadtpräfekten Eulogius von Nikomedia als Christin die Ehe, wurde verfolgt, mit Ruten geschlagen, an den Haaren aufgehangen und - nachdem flüssiges Blei auf ihr Haupt gegossen wurde - gefesselt und in den Kerker geworfen. Sie wurde aufs Rad gespannt, das ein Engel zerstörte, der sie dann heilte, anschließend in einen Kessel mit siedendem Blei gesetzt, blieb unbeschädigt und wurde enthauptet. Mit ihr starben 500 Mann und 130 Frauen als Märtyrer. Das geschah im Jahre 304. Die Reliquien der hl. Juliana befinden sich in Neapel.
