Nach Vollendung des 3.Lebensjahes brachten die Eltern, treu dem gegebenen Gelübde, das geborene Kind Gott zu widmen, dasselbe in den Tempel zu Jerusalem. Die hl. Jungfrau wurde auf die erste Stufe des Tempels gestellt, und betrat, zu allgemeiner Verwunderung, sicher alle 15 Stufen. Der Hohepriester Zacharias führte die Jungfrau in das Allerheiligste, welches der Hohepriester nur einmal im Jahre betreten durfte. Bis zum 11. Jahre im Tempel bleibend, verbrachte sie ihre Zeit mit Gebet, Lesung der hl. Schrift und Handarbeiten.
