珐乌斯塔在皇帝马克西米安在位期间的公元305 年－公元311年为基督的缘故而殉道。珐乌斯塔的英勇气概使得刽子手们大为惊呆，也使他们皈依了基督，其中包括80 岁的异教祭司埃维拉西斯和治安高级官员玛克西默。当法官用酷刑恫吓珐乌斯塔时，她要求法官为她画像，上面要画有他用所有的刑具威胁她的图案。圣像制作好了，并展示给珐乌斯塔看，圣珐乌斯塔说：“正如这个圣像对痛苦毫无感觉，我的身体也不会因你的施刑而感到疼痛，因为我的灵魂有主的保护。”法官将她投进一锅沸水里，由此，年仅13岁的珐乌斯塔在临终前口念祷文，而后灵魂安然进入天国。
