普若霍尔是基辅洞窟修道院的一位显灵迹者。他被称为食野菜者，是因为他在修道院生活期间从来没有吃过面包，而只食用野菜。他用自己的方式将这种野菜混合，而后做成一种面包。有时，他将面包祝福，分给别人吃。这种面包吃起来香甜，就如同用蜂蜜做成的一样；如果有人偷了面包，面包的味道就会如同蒿子做成的一样变得苦涩难以入口。有一次，俄罗斯国内食盐供应匮乏，普若霍尔就将香灰当作盐分给人们。经过他祝福的香灰就如同盐一样；而一些人擅自拿走的香灰仍然是普通的香灰。王子思维亚托波尔科下令，将普若霍尔庵室中的香灰全部运到他的皇宫中，但是并没有经得普若霍尔的允许，也没有得到他的祝福。当他们带来了香灰进行了品尝之后才确信，这是香灰而不是盐。普若霍尔告诉来到他那里寻求盐的人们回到皇宫，当王子将香灰从皇宫仍出的时候，将这些香灰带回家里，就如同盐一样。这些人这样作了，香灰成了盐。王子确信了此事，并对普若霍尔充满了敬佩和爱戴，当这位圣人于公元1107年去世时，王子亲手将其埋葬在俄罗斯伟大的圣人安托尼和德奥多西的陵墓旁。
