这位伟大的主教出生于塞尔维亚，并在圣山阿托斯潜心修行，同时也是希兰达尔修道院院长。萨瓦三世去世之后，尼哥底母于公元1317年被选为“全塞尔维亚人和沿海地区”总主教。尼哥底母于公元1321年为米鲁金王加冕。尼哥底母将《耶路撒冷礼规》翻译成了塞尔维亚文。尼哥底母在序言中写道：“全能的上帝知道我们的软弱，上帝将强壮我们的灵性，但是我们必须首先要尽力。”尼哥底母不但自己乐于潜心修行，而且还尽力将修行生活在塞尔维亚得以强大。尼哥底母全力打击鲍格米勒异端，并坚强了东正教信仰。尼哥底母于公元1325年荣耀归主，他的圣髑被安放在佩克修道院中，至今仍创造奇迹。
