这位传讲福音的伟大圣徒的纪念日是在9月26日。5月8日这一天纪念在他的陵墓上出现的奇迹。当约安百岁高龄的时候，他带领着七个门徒来到艾弗所城外，约安命令门徒们以十字架的形状挖掘一个坟墓。之后，约安走进坟墓并被埋葬。之后，当信众们重新打开坟墓的时候，他们没有发现约安的身体。每年的5月8日在约安的陵墓前都会扬起一股尘沙，这尘沙医治了很多疑难病症。
