这几位殉道者是亲兄弟，且是马克思米安在位时期罗马帝国的士兵。当罗马帝国在多瑙河同赛西亚人进行交战时，圣奥伦蒂乌斯出来同赛西亚巨人马拉托姆交战，并将这位巨人杀死。由此，整个罗马军团都向众神献祭，但是，奥伦蒂乌斯和他的兄弟却表明了他们是基督徒，不会向偶像献祭。尽管立下了汗马功劳，但是，这几位兄弟却被流放到里海一带。一路上，这七位兄弟因饥饿难忍纷纷归依基督永恒的国度。
