卢亚尔萨伯的父亲格奥尔吉十世为信仰遭受磨难，被波斯王毒死。卢亚尔萨伯被关在石拉兹附近的监狱中，在七年的监禁生活中卢亚尔萨伯变得憔悴不堪。之后，波斯王阿巴斯一世下令将卢亚尔萨伯连同他的两个仆人吊死在监狱中，当时为公元1622年6月21日。在他们的坟墓上曾经出现过一道来自天国的荣光。
