尼芬出生于阿基罗喀斯特伦地区的卢克沃村，父亲是一名牧师。从年轻时起他就喜欢一个人独居进行祷告。这种愿望最后致使他来到了圣山阿托斯，在那里潜心修行。起初在阿托斯善的圣裴特若山洞中居住，之后来到了圣安娜旷野中。圣尼芬甚至不想吃面包，只是食用蔬菜和草根。一些人出于嫉妒，指控他憎恨面包，但是他很快就为自己讨回了公正。最后，他同卡帕索卡里维亚的圣玛尔克西姆斯成为伙伴。由于他对上帝充满了虔诚的爱，由此他拥有施行奇迹和洞察的恩典。他用祷告以及傅油治愈病人，并能够洞察已经发生以及即将发生的事件。尼芬曾预言他将在圣裴特若斋期期间内死亡（这个斋期在圣裴特若和圣帕弗罗斋期前）。当那一天黎明到来时，他对围绕在他身边的兄弟们说："不要哭泣，相反要高兴，因为我将会在上帝面前成为你们的调停者，以使得你们获得拯救。"最后他说："现在是我离开这个世界的时间了"，而后将自己的灵魂交给了上帝，当时为公元1330年6月14日。

- To do a completely new approach with banners and a small calendars for other sites,
