作为高级司教，伊格纳提用爱和同情之心管理上帝的信众长达26年之久。伊格纳提在去世后，尸体被安置在教堂内，敬拜他圣髑的人曾亲眼目睹他的身体从棺柩中升向教堂的上空，从高空之处为人们和城市祝福。之后，他的身体又返回了灵柩。在伊格纳提的圣髑上曾出现过多次奇迹。这位伟大的圣人于公元1288年5月28日魂归天国。
