君士坦丁大帝在安提约希亚修建了一座非常漂亮的教堂。人们称这座教堂为“金教堂”，因为这座教堂的外部和内部都是包金的，同时，这里的很多家具和设备都是用金子和银子制成的。君士坦丁大帝拨给教堂一大块土地，以便能够容纳众多的神职人员。负责管理教堂里这些珍贵物件的是非常虔诚的司祭德奥多里特（*）。当叛教者犹利安登上王位后开始否认基督，尽管他已经接受了浸礼，但是他仍然对基督徒进行迫害。他的叔父犹利安来到安提约希亚，将“金教堂”抢劫一空。他召来教堂的管理人员德奥多里特，并怂恿他否认基督。德奥多里特既没有否认基督，同时还羞辱了皇帝犹利安，因为他离弃了真信仰，反而去拜偶像，如同一只狗重回到它的吣物。邪恶的法官大怒，在“金教堂”中撒了一泡尿，圣德奥多里特预言审判官将不得好死，而这预言很快就应验了。德奥多里特因为忠于基督而遭到斩首，死在了斧头之下。自从这位邪恶的法官在教堂中撒尿之后，他就感觉下身疼痛。他的整个下身都被蠕虫蚕食，就这样在极其恐怖的痛苦中死去。正如德奥多里特预言的那样，审判官的助手菲利克斯，在这位荣耀的圣人遭到斩首之后就口吐鲜血而身亡。圣德奥多里特于公元362年荣耀殉道，得以进入基督永生的国度。
