塔勒莱是叙利亚的修行者。起初，他在靠近耶路撒冷的神圣的萨巴斯修道院修行，但后来他到了一个异教徒的墓地处隐居起来。这个地方为人所共知，是鬼怪出没、异常恐怖的地方。为了通过对上帝的信仰来战胜他内心的恐惧，普若科彼在这个墓地居住了很多年的时间，期间昼夜遭受鬼怪的无数次袭击。正因为他对上帝的信仰和强烈的爱，上帝赋予了他行奇迹的恩典，他以此医治病人和遭受痛苦的人。普若科彼于公元460年离世。
