这帧至圣上帝之母的圣像是由塞尔维亚的圣萨瓦从耶路撒冷附近的成圣者萨瓦修道院请来的，名为“哺乳者”圣母像。大约八百年前，神圣的成德者萨瓦预言说，一个名叫萨瓦（和其同名）的塞尔维亚司祭将来到这里，此圣像和他的牧杖将会交给他，这个预言就此应验了：当塞尔维亚的圣萨瓦来到此修道院时，这里的修士们想起了修道院创建者的预言，就将圣像和院祖的牧杖交给了圣萨瓦。这尊圣像被安置在萨瓦在卡里埃（阿托斯圣山）的修道隐庐，圣像屏的圣门右侧。而牧杖则被安放在邻近的一个被称为帕特里卡的静庐中。
