德奥多西皇帝在位期间，尚未接受浸礼的多穆尼卡与另外4个异教少女一起从迦太基前往君士坦丁堡。牧首玛喀里为她们施浸，并祝福她们进修道院做修女。怀着巨大的热忱，圣多穆尼卡潜心克修，毫不动摇。她领受了圣灵的光照，能够预知未来的事件，并能以祈祷施行灵迹。圣女直到高龄方安息主怀，时为公元474年左右。
