Празнуваме паметта на Св. преподобномъченик Петър, презвитер Капитолийски. (Капитолия - град, който се намирал на пътя от Иерусалим за Дамаск) Приел монашество, той против волята си бе поставен за презвитер. Впоследствие като християнски учител агаряните го хванаха и го отведоха в Дамаск на мъчение. Там мъчителите му отрязаха езика, но той започна още по-ясно и по-добре да говори. След това му отсякоха дясната ръка и десния крак, избодоха му очите и накрая му отсякоха главата заради изповядването на Христа.
