Према свему изгледа да су били Словени. Служили Богу у Тракији, и тамо прво предани мукама за Христа. Када незнабошци јурнуше да запале цркву хришћанску, храбри Филип рече старешини њиховом: „Мислиш ли ти, да је Бог затворен у стене? Он живи у срцима”. Храм буде разорен, све књиге спаљене, а свештеници ови одведени у Једрене, где после тамновања и мука буду бачени полусажежени у реку Марицу. Још тридесет осам хришћана скончаше с њима мученички. Мисли се да су пострадали у време Диоклецијаново.
