У раној младости ступи у монаштво у манастиру светих Козме и Дамјана у Цариграду, и прими на себе тежак подвиг ради Христа Бога и ради душе своје. Себе је сматрала невестом Христовом, и овај свет као и непостојећи. Од њене велике љубави према Богу проистицаше и њено велико милосрђе према људима, нарочито према болним и страдалним. Даром, који јој Бог даде, исцељиваше она разне болести и разне муке на људима. На њеним ноћним молитвама виђали су је сву обасјану светлошћу небеском. А по смрти - и мошти јој беху целебне, те се на њеном гробу кроз векове стицаше мноштво болника и страдалника. Упокојила се мирно и прешла у вечну радост Господа свога 540. године.
