Св. Касиан е починал на 23 юли 435 г. Православната Църква чествува паметта му на 29 февруари, a през невисокосните години службата на св. Касиан се пее на вечернята на 28 февруари. Той не е официално канонизиран от Римокатолическата църква поради подозрения в антиавгустинизъм, респективно в полупелагианство.
