El a fost monah la Mînastirea Pesterilor din Kiev. El s-a savîrsit din viata aceasta la anul 1188, iar sfintele lui moaste sînt facatoare de minuni. Chiar si astazi trei degete ale mîinii lui stau unite la rugaciune, aratînd ca ceasul mortii 1-a prins la savîrsirea ei. Acest fapt este o mustrare pentru aceia care nu îsi fac semnul Sfintei Cruci cu cele trei degete.
