წმიდა ალექსანდრე, ალექსანდრიელი პატრიარქი 313-326 წლებში განაგებდა ალექსანდრიის ეკლესიას. ეს არიოზის ერესის მძვინვარების ჟამი იყო და მართლმადიდებლობის ქადაგი და მოღვაწეც დაუცხრომლად იბრძოდა მწვალებლობის სამხილებლად. დაახლოებით 320 წელს მან მოიწვია ადგილობრივი კრება, რომელმაც დაგმო არიოზის სწავლება, მისი მიმდევრები კი განკვეთა ეკლესიიდან. ცრუმოძღვარი მაინც არ დაცხრა. 325 წელს არიოზის სამხილებლად გამართულ ნიკეის I მსოფლიო კრებაზე წმიდა ალექსანდრე ერთ-ერთი თვალსაჩინო ფიგურა იყო. მისმა მოღვაწეობამ დიდად შეუწყო ხელი წმიდა სამების შესახებ მართლმადიდებლური სწავლების სიწმიდის დაცვას.
