Teniendo sólo trece años, Inés fue arrojada al fuego por causa de su fe en Cristo, y fue luego degollada. Mostró gran poder de obrar milagros tanto en la vida como en la muerte. Inés sufrió durante el reino del Emperador Diocleciano, en el 305 d. C.
