Der hl. Agapit wurde in Kapadokien geboren und schon in der Jugendzeit wurde er Mönch. Als die Christen unter Lykinius (307-324) verfolgt wurden, litt er mit den Anderen. Unter dem hl. Kaiser Konstantin dem Großen (306-337) wurde er zum Bischof von Sinaon geweiht. Er starb friedlich im 4. Jahrhundert in Phrygien.
