Anianus wird in den apokryphen Akten des Markus als zweiter Bischof von Alexandria genannt; er habe ab dem Jahr 64 für 22 Jahre regiert. Zuvor sei er Schuhmacher gewesen; nach anderen Quellen war er ein Adliger, der vom Apostel Markus selbst zum Bischof ernannt wurde.
